NIKE RUN Like ME | GPS JAPAN RUN - Our Nike interactive Facebook runner just completed a 6-day run in which he GPS ran the outline of Japan’s islands. The video recapping his run just went live. Huge props to Joseph Tame for his planning and running efforts on behalf of Nike RUN Like ME.

Sneakerheads in Tokyo
We got to Nike Harajuku at 8:30am and the line was already 50 deep. Sneaker releases in Tokyo draw a crowd, but only a moderate one by US standards. you don’t have to camp out, just get up a little early to make the score.
I scanned the footwear of the guys (and one girl) in the queue already. One guy was pacing the sidewalk in a pair of Galaxy Foamposites. Another teenager was cooly perched against the wall in some crispy black Yeezy 2’s. There were a lot of Jordan 1’s on display, and a few Jordan 6’s. Penny’s and Foamposites in general were also popular.
I tried to guess what each person was there for. It looked like a lot of sneaker shop guys, who would probably be buying all four limited releases for their business. The first five guys in line were all over 70 years old, wearing nothing special on their feet. Clearly there for profit. Possibly homeless, looking to get a commission buying the latest sneaker haul.
The doors opened at 11 o’clock, and the line wound down quickly. A few American dudes rejoiced at the relative ease of the score. I ended up with my size 13 Jordan 6 Olympics. No easy size to find in Japan, and definitely the best shoe I’ve bought in Tokyo.
In less than a week, the Internet has demanded that Joseph the Facebook runner runs 64 kilometers.
